Page 78 of Journal (March/April 2017) Negative No. 91233.

This is Addiewell Junction, on the Wilsontown Morningside and Coltness Railway, (previously Foulshiels) three miles south of Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland.  The line to right went to a local colliery and oil works and the line to left, was the main line to Bents station and Morningside. View looking north with colliery slag-heaps (‘bings’ in Scottish dialect) in distance.  The line closed to passengers in 1930 and to freight at Addiewell Junction c.1963.  Addiewell Junction signal cabin opened 26 November 1894, closed 24 April 1963.  All tracks since removed.
